KPIs: MTTD & MTTR
How mean time to detect and respond are measured, and what they mean.
What is measured
The Academy measures two headline metrics per lab: mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to respond (MTTR). Each is measured from your personal start of the incident - the moment the lab is made available to you - rather than from a shared wall-clock, so the numbers reflect your work and are comparable across self-paced runs.
Reading your metrics
On the KPIs page you can see your times per lab and how they trend as you complete more of the programme. The goal is to make improvement visible: faster, more confident detection and response over time.
These are measured programme metrics for your development. They describe your performance on the platform's labs; they are not a statistically powered scientific claim about real-world outcomes.
How your performance data is handled
Per-trainee performance data is personal data. It is held only in an erasable store and kept for the duration of your organisation's engagement. Cohort reporting uses aggregated figures that carry no identifier. Separately, your organisation's administrators can open your progress page, which shows what you have completed and how accurate you have been; it is the same page you see, and yours says so.
